It was a huge success. We walked to the train station and picked up pasmo cards, refillable train passes. We took the train from Yokosuko Chuo to Kitakurahama and then walked to the house. It's about 1.5k walk from the train. We live up on a hill so it was a bit of a hike, but not too bad. We wanted to get acquainted with the area and Hannah and Kol wanted to see the house, they loved it.
We took the train back and had sushi near the station. It was excellent. The kids did great with the sushi go round. They loved it and were very brave with their choices. We will be going back soon. It cost me 2200 yen or $27. Cheaper than American fast food.
Then we toured More's city. It is 9 floors of shopping. Mom you better come visit and bring money. You would love it.
We are a Navy family PCSing (Permanent Change of Station) to Japan and we want to share our experiences with family and friends.

What a wonderful Adventure! I LOVE Sushi! Very jealous!
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteWe moved to Japan very recently, in August, and have been in our house in Morisaki almost a month now. We live within what Google Maps says is walking distance of Kitakurihama Station, but have yet to experiment with walking there. We homeschool, so as soon as we could buckle down with our schedule, the exploration was kicked back to weekends (health permitting haha...love the abrupt weather changes!)
I was wondering if we may live nearby.
Your blog is wonderful :)
